Directions for Use
- Shake well before use.
- Premixing: Add the required amount of Alphatraz 125 to a suitable container with water and stir to produce a creamy emulsion.
- Then add this premix to the bulk water in the spray sump or dip tank and mix thoroughly.
- Hand Spraying: Thoroughly wet the animal by spraying from below upwards so that the hair is lifted by the spray. Concentrate on the ears, under the tail and in the brush of the tail.
- Plunge Dipping: Ensure animals are fully immersed. Submerge the head at least 3 times during passage through the dip.
- Prepare about 5–10 litres of dipwash per animal for hand spraying. Make enough wash for the day's use only.
Special Management Guidelines
- Dipwash must be freshly prepared for each spraying session. Do not carry over prepared wash to the next day.
- Calves under 3 months of age should be dipped or sprayed separately and with caution.
- Under heavy tick challenge, clipping hairs from ears and tail brushes will assist wetting and improve product contact.
- Do not spray more than 500 head in the spray race at one time. If exceeded, boost at 200ml per 100 head commencing at 500 head.
- All animals should be treated and interruption of the programme should be avoided. Untreated animals will remain susceptible to tick-borne diseases.
- Under low tick challenge, treatment intervals may be extended beyond 7 days at the user's discretion. In these circumstances, use relevant vaccines to protect against tick-borne diseases.
Tick-Borne Disease Immunity
Effective dipping and spraying may reduce natural tick exposure and immunity development. Young stock under 4 weeks should not be dipped unless infestation is severe. Where possible, vaccinate against tick-borne diseases.
